Syphilis surveillance report for 2009

Syphilis rates in 2009 for Cuyahoga County decreased 15% (to 6.90 per 100,000 population) from 2008 rates. Eighty-eight new cases of primary, secondary and early latent syphilis were diagnosed and reported to public health officials. This report was produced by the Cleveland Department of Public Health in coordination with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health and Shaker Heights Health Department. Released June 1, 2010.
